Writing Questions / Re: How do you hype yourself up to write?

I consume a lot of media whether it's revisiting old fandoms or trying new things because when I see something I like it stays in my head for 5000 years and serves as inspiration. This includes reading a lot of others' fanfictions of course because I get inspired seeing what other people are writing about my favs. I also talk to my friends and take part in fandom community more in order to get motivation and see what others are doing.
I'm also very into music so I like to listen to it as well as make playlists for my favs to help inspire me. Yknow, the classic imagining an entire music video in my head while just sitting there listening.
Also there's nothing wrong with just writing the part you want to get to first then writing the other stuff later. I will sometimes do that in the middle of writing like "ok, I want x to happen and we're not there yet but we'll get there eventually" and just put it at the bottom of my doc as a reminder.
Similarly I like to plug my WIP into AO3 to add tags, author's notes, summary, etc so I can get a better idea of what I'm doing and want to use. Just make sure you keep a backup of your work as AO3 only keeps drafts for a month - I try to only do this when I'm finishing up a fic but, well, life happens and they do sometimes get deleted before I can post them.
